Repair and Payment Terms & Conditions

  • Technologia Repair (“TR”) is a business involved in the repair of electronic products. The offering on this website is available to South African clients only.

You (The Customer) authorize TR to perform diagnostic and/or repair work on your device (“Service”) as more fully described in the Book-in form. You authorize TR to keep your device for the period required to perform the Service on the device. You undertake to disable your device lock screen password so that we can access your device for Service or provide unlock pin or swipe pattern.

For the safety of data in your device, it’s your sole responsibility to back up and/or delete such data, and remove SIM card and SD card as well as SIM tray before authorizing us to perform diagnostic and/or repair work on your device. We will not be responsible for any loss of data or damages during the Service in case you fail to complete such backup, deletion, and removal of data, SIM, or SD Card.

We will not store, save, make use of or transfer any personal data contained in your device for any purpose.

TR would in no way be liable for any loss of data or content at any stage.

TR shall not be liable to replace any screen protector that is fitted to your device which TTP is required to remove to render the service.

Should TR find that there is any information that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable, TR is obliged by law to delete such content, and TTP would in no way be liable for any loss of data or content in this regard.

In no event shall TR have any liability to the customer for any loss of data, or any indirect, incidental, special, and/or consequential damages whether based on breach of contract, delict (including negligence), product liability, or otherwise.

Personal information that you provide in the Book-in shall be processed only to be able to contact you for the Service and quality control [such as for online and offline customer satisfaction surveys] and to perform audits as reasonably required. Such information shall be kept for a period not exceeding two (2) years. TR shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of customers. You have the right under the law to ask us for a copy of the information we have in an electronic format and ask us to correct, delete and not to use your data but only to keep it for legal reasons. For this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from: http://www.polity.org.za/attachment.php?aa_id=3569.

Where a warranty repair is requested, we will carry this out at no cost to you subject to the manufacturer’s warranty conditions being met. Repairs not within the manufacturer’s warranty conditions shall be chargeable.

A device will be out of warranty when the device is damaged due to the following reasons – a) by accident such as water (liquid) damage b) device has been dropped or suffered impact c) man-made damage including illegal disassembly, tearing back paste, viruses, etc. or d) any damage caused by abuse of the device not conforming to the manufacturer’s guidelines on the product.

Subject to availability of spares, after receipt of payment, your repair will be processed within 5 days and upon completion of the repair, you will be notified that the device is ready for collection by way of SMS or phone call.

All quotations are valid for 7 days only. Failure to accept or reject a quotation within that period will result in the quote becoming invalid and your device shall be returned to you unrepaired. In all such cases, an assessment fee shall be charged to you.

The provision of goods and services by TR is subject to the availability of spares. In cases of unavailability, TTP will refund the client in full within 48 hours.

Upon booking in your device you will be required to pay the corresponding Service fee, the Service fee includes: a) materials cost and b) maintenance labor cost c) and the assessment fee. If we need to send the device back to the OEM, it may also include the courier cost.

TR provides a 90-day mobile device material and workmanship warranty on the services and parts provided unless otherwise stated. The warranty does not cover future accidents nor does it cover water-damaged devices. We are not responsible for any prior residual damage or any data loss. The warranty covers non-user-related issues.
South African law shall govern these terms and conditions.

You hereby indemnify TR against all claims that may be made against TR for any loss or damages arising from or occasioned by;

Any act or omission by you or any of your duly authorized representatives which amounts to a breach of these TR’s T and C’s;

Any act or omission by the Customer which amounts to a contravention of any statutory duty, provision, or other law:

The customer has to comply with current rules and legislation relating to data protection and protection of personal information and TR carries no liability, should the customer fail to comply with these rules and legislation.

Online Payments may be made via Visa and MasterCard.

Card transactions will be acquired for TR via PayGate (Pty) Ltd which is the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3), and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Your details will be stored by TR separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za.

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

TR takes responsibility to ensure that all information (service requested and cost of that service) relating to the payment of the transaction, is correct and shall assist in facilitating the resolution of any disputes related to this transaction.

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and TR chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature, the physical address as in point 31 below.

Processing of OWNER’s data

  • TR will only collect personal information consistent with the purpose for which it is required. The specific purpose for which the information is collected is to render the Services.
  • The nature of the personal information which will be collected relates to inter alia contact details (such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.).
  • In providing the personal information to TR the Owner acknowledges that the information has been collected directly from them and that the Owner has consented to its processing by TR. Where the Owner is providing another person’s personal information to TR, the Owner acknowledges that it has obtained such person’s consent to the processing of their personal information for purposes of TR providing the relevant Services.
  • Provision of personal information to TR is voluntary, and if the requested information is not provided, TR may not be able to provide Services. The personal information shall only be used for the purpose for which it was collected unless the Client has agreed to an alternative purpose in writing or as allowed by any applicable law.
  • TR will only process personal information in a manner that is adequate, relevant, and not excessive in the context of the purpose for which it is processed.
  • TR will take such steps as may be required to ensure that it complies with any law in respect of the transfer, storage, security, and use of the personal information The Owner’s data will be processed only for the provision of the Services following the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
  • The person whose personal data is being processed has the right to access the data, update or modify them.
  • The Owner’s data will not be made available to other persons/entities, except for persons/entities providing necessary ancillary services such as courier, repair, postal, IT, etc. services and to other persons/entities that are legally authorized to access such data.
  • Customer Privacy policy

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and TR chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.

TR may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
